All Haryana villages to be model: Minister

Published on:

Haryana Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, Om Prakash Dhankar on Sunday said the State Government is working towards the development of all the villages as model villages.

On the pattern of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Vidhayak  Adarsh Gram Yojana and Adhikari Adarsh Gram Yojana are being implemented so as to monitor the developmental works being done in the villages and to provide the villages  with city-like facilities.

In a statement issued here, Dhankar said that in connection to this, a special orientation programme of MlA’s, Deputy Commissioners and Additional Deputy Commissioners is being organised on November 16 at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh, where information regarding Adarsh Gram Yojna would be given and guidelines for its successful implementation would be provided.

Dhankar said the programme would be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Manohar lal and would be participated by all the Ministers, MlAs, Deputy Commissioners and Additional Deputy Commissioners.

So far, only 43 of the total 90 MlAs have come forward to adopt a village each under the Vidhayak  Adarsh Gram Yojana , launched a year back in Haryana. Surprisingly, not even all the 47 BJP MlAs in the 90-member state assembly have adopted a village in their constituency under VAGY.

VAGY and Adhikari Adarsh Gram Yojana aims at achieving holistic, sustainable and inclusive development of villages, encompassing social, human and economic progress along with growth of infrastructure, by instilling a sense of ownership and pride through active participation of village community.
