In Haryana, all gram panchayats will take a pledge to put an end to the menace of female foeticide and protect girl child under the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ programme at 11 am on January 20. The Mahila Sabhas and Ward Sabhas of all villages would take this pledge.
A spokesman of the Development and Panchayat Department said that the Department had directed all deputy commissioners, district development and panchayat officers and block development and panchayat officers to make this programme a success by ensuring participation and cooperation of all elected public representatives of panchayats.
