Haryana Transport Minister Krishan lal Panwar on Tuesday clarified that the State Government has not withdrawn any long-route buses and a review process is ongoing to check whether plying these inter-state buses are profitable or not.
A day after state roadways employees union announced to hold an agitation against Haryana Government’s decision of withdrawing inter-state buses and ply them within the state, Haryana Minister while talking to the mediapersons here said that the department is only reviewing whether plying the inter-state buses is profitable or not.
An analysis of this is being done and accordingly, a decision would be taken to withdraw buses from long routes, if required, said he.
Panwar said that a report regarding this will be submitted to me soon and the issue will be discussed with Chief Minister Manohar lal.
He said that we will reconsider the inter-state buses which are not-profitable to the department. Such buses could run within the state, said he.
The Minister also rubbished the allegations that this is being to give benefits to private bus owners. No such decision would be taken which is not in favor of employees or department he added.
Notably, Haryana Roadways Workers Union has asked the government to release pending bonus to its employees, not to withdraw long route buses and also, accused it of privatising the state roadways.
