After IAS officers expressed unhappiness with the haste shown in seeking prosecution sanction by Vigilance Bureau (VB) against some of them, now Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officers have also come out in open with the protests.
Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officers association made a representation to acting chief secretary P Mitra and submitted a memorandum to him alleging that officers were unduly harassed by the Vigilance Bureau.
Two officers Gopal Chand and DC Rana both senior HAS officers have been made suspects and co-accused in the chargesheet submitted by the Vigilance Bureau seeking prosecution sanction in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) case.
According to senior HAS officer who was part of delegation said that Vigilance Bureau has not acted with due diligence and has named officers in the chargesheet just on the fact that they were obeying the orders of Government of the time.
The officer requesting anonymity also alleged that Vigilance Bureau had adopted a pick and choose method and named the persons as accused, co-accused or suspects with whom they were not comfortable while the officers who were close to ranks of vigilance officials were left out.
On other hand IAS officers association also held a meeting on Tuesday to chalk out future course of strategy as three of the senior IAS officers including one additional chief secretary rank officer Deepak Sanan has been named in the chargesheet.
Sources said that a delegation of senior IAS officers will soon meet Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and apprise him of their resentment. “There were several scams including police boot scam, uniform scam and encroachment done by senior police officers but in those cases vigilance has gone slow and when it came for IAS officers, undue haste was shown to implicate them,” said a senior IAS officer.
The file for prosecution sanction is now with the law department after which it will be send to home department and Chief Minister office seeking nod to prosecute the officers involved in the HPCA irregularities case. Meanwhile, rumours were rife that Chief Minister has given go ahead for the prosecution sanction but no official confirmation could be done.
