To ensure a safe and hassle-free Kanwar Yatra, Haryana Police has put in place extensive security as well as traffic arrangements on the routes used by the pilgrims across the state. PK Agrawal, DGP, said that all the Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police have been directed to ensure adequate arrangements for the safety of kanwariyas, maintaining law and order and traffic situation. In addition, instructions have also been given to make available additional police forces in the respective districts. Ambulances, cranes and fire brigade vehicles will be deployed at critical points for quick response in case of any emergent situation. To ensure better coordination, meetings have also been held with police officers of the neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In these meetings, traffic diversion plans and security of devotees as well as the general public were discussed.
