Accept genuine demands of doctors: Cong to CM

Published on:

Congress has asked the Haryana Government and Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar to immediately accept the genuine demands of the agitating doctors to prevent the healthcare services from coming to a grinding and painful halt in the state.

“Two rounds of talks with the authorities having failed and the doctors under the banner of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA) now plan to observe two-hour pen-down strike on September 11, close OPD services on September 13, and a complete shutdown of the health services, including emergency and post-mortem, from September 14, if their genuine demands are not met, said Kiran Choudhry, leader of the Haryana Congress legislature Party.

The former excise and taxation minister pointed out that Haryana is the only state where government doctors in rural areas could not get any quota in admission to postgraduate courses this year simply because, though mandated under the rules, the government failed to issue a notification about remote and difficult areas.

What’s more, the entrance test for admissions next year is due in a month or two, but the government is yet to issue notification, she added.

Choudhry said though demands like special package for specialists, allowances on a par with Central Government doctors, dynamic ACP structure and PG policy had been accepted by the Health Minister Anil Vij at a meeting, these were yet to be implemented.
