Escalating its attack against the Centre’s three ‘black’ farm laws, the Aam Aadmi Party will stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday.
“The party’s Punjab cadre will protest at Jantar Mantar from 11 am to 4 pm in solidarity with the farmers who are agitating in Punjab and Haryana against the anti-farmer laws,” said the state affairs in-charge Jarnail Singh on Sunday.
He said that the protests would be led by AAP’s Punjab unit president and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann, who will be accompanied by party MLAs from Punjab and Delhi, besides Delhi Government Cabinet Ministers, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs, and the cadre of party’s Punjab and Delhi units.
This was the time to stand together against the forces who want to sell the farmers livelihood to corporate households, said Jarnail Singh.
Appealing to the people of Punjab to participate in AAP’s protest, Mann said that the farm laws have forced everyone in Punjab to come out on the streets and protest against these laws, in support of these protests; and to take their message to the corridors of power, AAP is going to protest at Jantar Mantar.
“The government sitting at the Centre has gone deaf, they are unable to hear the loud cries of the farmers that are coming from Punjab and Haryana. AAP’s only objective to protest at Jantar Mantar is to shout even louder so that the Government can hear through their deaf ears,” he said.
