Ahead of the lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chandigarh’s unit will now launch a door-to-door membership drive in the city.
So far, about 30,000 people have enrolled in Chandigarh during the ongoing free of charge membership programme under the Main Bhi Hoon Aam Aadmi campaign in a time span of 15 days i.e., between January 10 and 26. A spokesperson of AAP Chandigarh unit on Tuesday said, “Now, in addition to the earlier model of setting up membership stalls across various locations in Chandigarh, volunteers will also be doing a door-to-door drive. Under this, not only those interested, would be enrolled as members but also, AAP volunteers would be providing help and assistance regarding voter ID cards, voter lists etc. It would also be checked if the eligible person’s name has been listed in the voter list correctly.”
