In the political war for popularity and credit in the Moga molestation case, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to capitalise on the issue through the legal means. Terming the Moga incident as “Punjab’s Nirbhaya case” (Delhi gang-rape case), AAP’s Punjab unit on Monday announced its decision to become a party to the ongoing suo motu case hovering around the molestation of a 13-year-old girl in a moving bus owned by the Badal family.
Punjab unit of AAP has authorized its state convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur to become a party to the ongoing case in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, while the former AAP leader and rebel Yogendra Yadav met the victim’s family on Monday.
The case was placed before the Division Bench on Monday morning, which has referred the same to the other Bench. The High Court, two days back, had taken suo motu cognisance on the basis of the letter related to the incident wherein a teenaged girl was first molested and later thrown out of the moving bus by her molesters that led to her death.
