Aam Admi Party on Tuesday suffered another jolt in Punjab as its coordinator and strongest contender from Amloh assembly segment Roshan lal Sood joined Shiromani Akali Dal along with his thousands of supporters.

National awardee and retired as director education department Roshan lal Sood has a strong mass base in Amloh Assembly segment and was considered as one of the strongest contenders of AAP for 2017 assembly elections.

Sood joined SAD along with his close aides retired lecturer Maghar Singh Salana and master Dev Raj, who too have strong mass base in their respective areas in the presence of party president and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and party candidate from Amloh Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna.

Describing internal corruption in AAP and pro-development policies of Sukhbir Badal as the main reasons of his joining SAD, Sood said: “AAP leadership is hell bent to mint money out of Punjab assembly polls. They are selling tickets to the biggest bidders and the grass root workers are completely ignored in the party.”

Welcoming Sood in the party fold, Sukhbir promised that he would be given due respect and position in the party. “There are long bee lines of leaders and workers of opposition parties and party would accept only those people in their folds who believe in the development agenda of party.”

“SAD-BJP led Punjab government has ushered in unparalleled development in the state and no opposition party can compete on alliance’s development agenda,” said Sukhbir.

Describing Sood’s induction in SAD as another bolt in SAD’s arm, Khanna said that rebel of such an honest and dedicated worker has put last nail in the coffin of Amloh wing of AAP. It would not only help party in Amloh constituency, but also have great jolt to AAP on all other adjoining assembly segments, he said.
