A day after BJP and Congress councillors exchanged heated arguments over an inauguration of Community Centre, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chandigarh on Tuesday condemned both the political parties. A spokesperson of the party said, “AAP Chandigarh condemns the VIP culture of inaugurating public money funded buildings such as Community Centres etc and taking credit of same by engraving their names on stones. The string of events yesterday where BJP and Congress workers behaved in an unruly and undignified manner during the inauguration ceremony of a Community Center in Mauli Jagran is deplorable.”
“It must be stated that it is people’s money for which both parties, BJP and Congress are taking credit. AAP deplores such VIP culture and suggests that these public places should ideally be inaugurated by Aam Aadmi i.e the common people of Chandigarh, from any walk of life,” stated the party. High drama was witnessed at Mauli Jagran on Monday when Mayor H C Kalyan along with Congress leaders went to the area to inaugurate the projects that the BJP had inaugurated on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in view of approaching lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi party (AAP) Chandigarh is targeting the voters in the villages and colonies of the city. The AAP Chandigarh is organizing Jhadu Yatra (Broom Yatra) in Chandigarh aiming to connect with voters in all colonies and villages ahead of the polls.
