Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab president and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann, expressing deep anguish and agony over the loss of lives in the Batala firecracker factory blast, on Thursday demanded a judicial probe into the incident to check recurrence such fatal incidents in the near future.

“Had the dispensation shunned its laidback attitude and taken the onus of peoples’ safety and security upon it, the incident could have been averted. The corruption-riddled system and highly irresponsible behaviour to tackle on the part of those at the helms has devastated the entire the entire system in place, as a result of which such macabre incidents have refused to stop in the State,” said Mann.

Raising an accusing finger on the State Government, Mann questioned as to who and how permission was granted to run cracker and other combustible material factories in and around the densely populated areas.

Mann demanded that the Captain Amarinder Singh government should take the onus of identifying such factories firecracker and other combustible material factories in the state and do a precious little relocate them from the residential areas and set them up at designated focal points and industrial areas under the government subsidy so that such incident did not recur.
