AAP questions timing of regularisation

The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday questioned the Punjab Government’s motive behind its move to regularise 30,000 contractual employees, saying that had the SAD-BJP coalition been serious on the issue, they would not have waited for the polls to approach. The reported move by the SAD-BJP Government to call a special Assembly session on Monday was nothing more than a “stage-managed” decision to placate the agitating contractual and temporary employees, said AAP's Punjab unit convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi).

“If the Government of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is indeed serious about the issue, it would have regularised the employees long ago anytime during its 10-year rule in Punjab,” he said.
