A day after senior Congress leader Amarinder Singh asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to spell out Punjab agenda rather than adding to anarchy¸ the party’s State convenor Sucha Singh Chotepur on Monday said that the agenda was very clear, that was to provide honest, clean and transparent alternative to the people of Punjab.
Chhotepur, reacting to Amarinder’s statement, said that the people were fed up of “political machinations and corruption of both the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)”.
“The situation in Punjab is not yet fully in control that Capt Amarinder had already started visiting deras in anticipation of 2017 elections. Instead of working towards restoring general peace, Capt Amarinder is trying to gain political mileage from the whole situation,” said Chhotepur.
Questioning Capt Amarinder’s credentials on asking the reason and agenda from AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Chottepur said that Kejriwal was a national leader who had a mass following pan India.
“Was Amarinder capable enough of contesting elections from Uttar Pradesh or would people of Haryana give him the kind of affection being given to Arvind KejriwalIJ” he asked.
Chhotepur asked Capt Amarinder to “set his own party affairs in order before questioning other parties”.
He also appealed to the former chief minister “not to indulge in vote bank politics as the SAD”.
Capt Amarinder, a day before, had asked Kejriwal to spell out party’s agenda for Punjab rather than adding to the already existing “chaos and anarchy” in the state.
He had stated that Kejriwal was basically from Hisar in Haryana and he has no business to interfere and indulge in the affairs of Punjab.
