To woo city voters in view of upcoming lok Sabha polls, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chandigarh unit on Sunday organised events to spread awareness about AAP’s vision, programmes and policies.

A spokesperson of the party said, “Jhadu yatra  (Broom Yatra) was organised at Indira Colony, Manimajra, wherein several AAP volunteers shared and discussed ideas like Swaraj and decentralisation with the city residents.” Over 100 AAP volunteers went to every street, nook and cranny of Indira Colony and took the message of AAP to them. AAP Ki Krant, AAP’s newsletter was also distributed amongst interested residents. ‘Swaraj Awareness Campaign’ was later organised at Plaza Sector 17 here.

Under the campaign, AAP volunteers spread awareness about concepts like Swaraj and decentralisation that AAP seeks to bring forth in India to empower every single individual citizen. “A membership drive was also initiated under the Main Bhi Hoon Aam Aadmi campaign at Plaza, in which several city residents became members and expressed their support for AAP,” he added.
