AAP lashes at suspended MLA Khaira

Lashing out at its “suspended” legislator Sukhpal Singh Khaira asking him to abstain from making negative statements, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday backed the new-entrant Justice (retired) Zora Singh who joined the party a day before. Khaira had described “discredited” Justice Zora Singh’s joining AAP as its “political bankruptcy”.

Hailing Justice Zora Singh’s decision to join AAP and welcoming him in the party fold, senior leader and Sunam MLA Aman Arora and party’s legal wing head advocate Jastej Singh said that AAP is people's party and people with clear image like Justice Zora Singh are always welcome in AAP.

Arora said that Justice Zora Singh has performed a marvellous service in the field of judiciary for 35 long years, and his induction in the party will further strengthen AAP in Punjab.

Reacting on Khaira’s statement about Justice Zora Singh, Arora said that it showed that Khaira always indulge in negative politics without any reason. “The entire Punjab knows that Justice Zora Singh investigated the matter related to the cases of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib with utmost sincerity and did not spare even the government officials and politicians related to the ruling SAD,” he said.

“This was the reason that Badal government did not make the recommendations of the report public,” he said adding that Justice Zora Singh carries a respectable image in the field of judiciary.

Arora said that Khaira always follow the principal of ‘Me, Me and Me’, but he forgot that team is always important factor in politics.

“Every human being, while living in the world, has to follow the rules set up by society and it applies in the politics too,” he said.

AAP MLA said that Khaira must not forget that the party which he is criticizing today had sent him to Punjab Vidhan Sabha and then appointed him Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha.

“Khaira started crying foul just after he was removed from the post of leader of opposition. Speaking against his own party is the past practice of Khaira and it will lead him to nowhere,” he said.

Arora said that Khaira has no right to speak against the party and he must resign from the party and form his own political outfit before raising fingers over the AAP leadership.
