AAP condemns Kejri's portrayal as 'nihang' Sikh

Ducked under series of cases against its leaders, especially related to religion, the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday announced that it would write to the magazine that represented Delhi Chief Minister and party’s national convener as ‘nihang’ Sikh.

Announcing this, the party’s Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur has also condemned Kejriwal’s portrayal as ‘nihang’ on its cover by a weekly magazine.

“Kejriwal is not at fault. I also appeal to the Nihang community not to blame or criticize our leader for this. How are we responsibleIJ” he said, adding that Kejriwal was as much hurt.

lashing out at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), he said, “The Sikh body should not issue statements to please Akali Dal or it will lose whatever reputation left.”

He confirmed that Kejriwal will Darbar Sahib to perform sewa on July 18.

“AAP convener is coming with humility to pay obeisance and perform sewa. If there is need for an apology, it will be rendered to the Guru and sangat, not an individual.”

Chhotepur said that the Badals were raking up non-issues to malign the image of AAP.
