AAP blames Sukhbir for fresh sacrilege cases

The blame-game on the unabated incidents of sacrilege is getting muddy. Both the Aam Aadmi Party and the ruling Akali Dal are point finger at each other for the ill-fated incidences.

Only a day before, SAD had complained to the Election Commission against AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal demanding registration of case against him for the alleged sacrilege of the holy book at Muktsar and lambi, spreading communal hatred and hobnobbing with terrorist outfits.

In a letter to Punjab Chief Electoral Officer VK Singh, party secretary and Education Minister Daljeet Singh Cheema had said that immediately after Kejriwal stayed for the night at the house of dreaded Khalistan Commando Force militant Gurinder Singh in Moga, pages of ‘Gutka’ were found scattered in Muktsar and lambi.

Slamming SAD for lodging a “frivolous” complaint, AAP alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal was responsible for the incidents of sacrilege Punjab.

During Sukhbir’s tenure as the State Home Minister, about 95 cases of sacrilege took place, including the theft of holy Guru Granth Sahib from Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village Gurdwara in June 2015, pointed AAP state convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi.

“His demand for registration of FIR against AAP in sacrilege case proves his complicity and bankruptcy of common sense,” he alleged.

Terming Sukhbir a “failed” Home Minister, Ghuggi said: “What could be more shameful that during one-and-a-half-years Badal has been unable to trace the Holy Guru Granth SahibIJ”

“AAP would not even think of disrespecting the holy book of any religion as the party holds love, affection and reverence for all faiths,” he said adding that Sukhbir is indulging in such heinous acts to put blame on AAP.

“All those who were responsible for the sacrilege incidents would be put behind bars after AAP formed the government in Punjab,” he said while accusing Sukhbir of “trying to spark communal tension in Punjab for vested political interests”.

“Even now he is trying to blame AAP for sacrilege in lambi,” said Ghuggi.

Continuing its attack on AAP, SAD has sought interrogation of all those visiting Delhi Chie Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the night when he stayed in the house of a KCF militant at Moga last Saturday.

“We are confident that such a probe will provide vital clues to trace on those involved in sacrilegious acts at Muktsar and lambi subsequently,” said party MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa while reiterating SAD’s stand that Kejriwal was behind the recent acts of sacrilege during last two days.

Dhindsa said that AAP supremo perhaps seems to have overseen the sinister operation in his bid to foment trouble by enraging the people and create tension.

He urged the Election Commission to direct a summary probe and identify the culprits so that the ugly face of the AAP and its leaders is exposed to the electorate before the polls itself. Any delay in the investigation would be self-defeating as AAP would achieve its objective of deriving political mileage during the polls, he said.

Calling Kejriwal as a ‘CIA Agent’, SAD’s senior leader and MP Prem Singh Chandumajra described him as “a person propped up by funding through the Ford Foundation and other agencies with a long term objective to destabilize the country”.

“His links to this effect including some known international operators are available from the documents pertaining to his foundation that he floated against the rules when he was a government official. Kejriwal’s NGO Sampooran Parivartan was granted 80,000 dollars in 2002 when he was still a government servant for which he did not take any permission from the government. There are several grants that he received from various sources linked to CIA in one way or the other,” he added.

He demanded that the funding of all NGOs associated with Kejriwal must be probed by a high level agency.
