AAP asks Punjab Govt to ensure jobs for SSS Board clerical test pass candidates

Published on:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday demanded to ensure jobs of the candidates who have passed the clerical exam conducted by Punjab’s State Staff Selection (SSS) Board for the post of office clerk.

AAP MLA and the Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema has written a letter to the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in this regard pointing that the posts were advertised by the Punjab Government via Adv 4/2016.

Cheema said that as per the information given by the candidates Surinder Kumar, Mandeep Kaur, Ravinder Singh, Amardeep Singh, Ankit Sharma, Pritpal Singh and others who called upon him, the Board had advertised the post in 2016 and the selection process was started in 2018.

“The result was declared in the same year but nothing has been done in this regard after that. The candidates are waiting for their appointment letters for long time but neither the Board nor the Government representatives are listening to their demands,” said Cheema.

Cheema said that the demand of the candidate is genuine and the Government must ensure their joining as soon as possible.

He feared that if the government did not pay heed to the demand of the candidates, the process can be delayed because of the implementation of model code of conduct for general elections.

“Most of the candidates have their last chance to get the government jobs as their age limit will exceed from required in coming months,” he added.
