AAP asks Capt to desist from making ‘absurd’ allegations against it to cover up his failures

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh of resorting to level gibberish and baseless allegations against the state’s main opposition party to cover up its failures as the State Government had completely failed in its fight against corona.

AAP MLAs — including Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, Principal Budhram, Kultar Singh Sandhawan, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Jai Singh Rori, and Kulwant Singh Pandori, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, and Master Baldev Singh, in a joint statement, said that the number of corona patients and deaths is constantly increasing.

“Death rate in Punjab has reached the third highest in the country. After the large cities, the outbreak of corona in small cities or towns and villages is a matter of grave concern. Acting as a responsible and sensitive government, the Chief Minister should join hands with all the opposition parties, social and religious, to reach out to the people with full throttle for the success of his otherwise flop ‘Mission Fateh’,” said the leaders.

AAP leaders said that the Government’s failure could not be concealed by making baseless allegations against AAP.

“AAP has nothing to do with rumour monger Amarinder Singh and the Congress is making efforts to tarnish party’s image by linking him with AAP,” they said adding that on the contrary, he (Amarinder Singh) was connected with Congress leaders.

Concerned about the deaths of people due to uncontainable corona, the AAP leaders appealed to the Chief Minister to leave the farmhouse and visit the people and the government hospitals or corona care centers which are lying in miserable conditions. “If you are unable to do this task due to your luxurious lifestyle, then at least ask your Shutrana MLA Nirmal Singh about the plight of Corona Care Center at Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, who opted for treatment in private hospital due to lack of facilities in Government Hospital,” they added.

AAP leaders said that when the Chief Minister comes out of his farmhouse to know the ground realities, he will adopt Kejriwal’s Delhi model in the fight against Corona and shall appreciate the Oximeter campaign started by AAP in public interest.
