AAP accuses Cong Govt of being anti-employee

Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday criticized the Congress-led Punjab Government’s “anti-teacher” policy to forcefully transfer the agitating teachers to the State’s border areas.

“The State Government’s move is inhuman and an attempt to silence the voice of peacefully agitating teachers,” said AAP’s core committee chairman Principal Budhram, adding that it has exposed the anti-employee face of Capt Amarinder Singh Government.

The Government wanted that even if it harassed the teachers, they should not even utter a word against it, he added.

Principal Budhram said that the Government, in an autocratic way, reduced the pay of teachers from Rs 45,000 per month to Rs 10,500 and is now harassing them mentally if they raise their voice.

He also condemned the decision to transfer the teachers without any policy. “Among the agitating teachers, 26 from Bathinda, five from Moga, 14 from Mansa, 16 from Hoshiarpur, six from Patiala, five from Amritsar, among others, were transferred to hundreds of kilometres away from their native areas,” he pointed.

Condemning the Government’s attitude, Principal Budhram warned that in case the Government did not stop its autocratic policies against the teachers, AAP would soon start an agitation against it.
