AAP a group of liars, cheats: Punjab Cong

Published on:

Terming the Aam Aadmi Party Party (AAP) as a group of liars and cheats, Punjab Congress on Monday said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s party had lost all credibility by inducting a convict without bothering to verify his antecedents.

“Though the party had tried to go for damage control and expelled Navdeep Singh, who was sentenced to seven years in jail for an assault on a Dalit leader, the move had exposed its true face,” said the Congress leaders — MlA Kewal Singh Dhillon, Chaudhary Surinder Singh and Balwinder Singh laddi, in a joint statement.

They said that the fact that the convict was taken into the party fold along with the Dalit victim of his assault, as well as an eyewitness to the case, showed the complete absence of morality in AAP. It clearly indicated the party was selling not only tickets but even membership, without any concern about the background, criminal record, etc of the candidates, they said.

“With this, AAP has once again proved itself to be completely anti-Dalit…AAP’s own leaders and workers, including Yamini Gomar, had openly accused Kejriwal and his associates of following an anti-Dalit agenda,” they said adding that the incident gave credence to Gomar’s statement that there was only a miniscule of AAP leadership who passed the 3C (free of corruption, criminal record and character).
