AAP a bunch of outsiders: Sukhbir

Slamming Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh for his regime’s “failure” and dismissing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a “bunch of outsiders”, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Friday exhorted people of the State to vote SAD-BJP combine to power for a third consecutive term.

Sukhbir, inaugurating and laying foundation stones of various development projects worth Rs 350 crore in Kotkapura, Jaito and Faridkot, claimed that the SAD was the only party which genuinely represents Punjab whereas Congress and AAP were only “lusting” after power.

Coming down heavily on AAP, Sukhbir said that they were “bunch of outsiders who don't have any inkling about the culture and tradition of Punjab”.

Terming AAP as Punjab's “biggest enemy”, he alleged that the party was trying to “disrupt communal harmony and brotherhood” in the state.

He claimed that AAP did not care for the sentiments of any religion and the dastardly act committed by them during the release of their youth manifesto in Amritsar, was drawing flak from around the world.

Targeting Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder, Sukhbir claimed that during previous nine years, Punjab has witnessed record progress whereas the former's chief ministerial regime ended in a “big failure”.

He claimed that Capt Amarinder would not be able to list even a single development oriented project of his regime whereas the SAD-BJP Government has ensured fast-track development of the State. Besides uplifting the living standard of its people through various welfare schemes.

He said that Punjab has been transformed into a power surplus state during the previous nine years and the state is providing 24-hour power supply which is in stark contrast to neighbouring states.
