A victory of Congress, people, says Bajwa

Punjab Congress is patting its back for “forcing” the Punjab Government to postpone the imposition of the property tax, and eventually lowering the rates.

Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Friday claimed that after Congress launched an aggressive campaign against the levy of back breaking property tax, the SAD-BJP Government had been forced to retract and now has decided to lower the property tax substantially. Bajwa also congratulated the “Punjabis for their victory”.

“Instead of bringing the facts clearly, the Government has been diverting the attention of the people by misquoting the factual position and the JNNURM guidelines. Actually under the garb of these guidelines, the SAD-BJP alliance was planning to impose very heavy property tax to fill their empty coffers, which has been exposed by the Congress,” said Bajwa.
