After setting up women police stations at district level in the State, Haryana Government has begun the process to establish such police stations at sub-division level to curb crime against women.
Eight new women police stations at sub-division level will be established at Assandh, Dadri, Hansi, Gohana, Manesar, Dabwali, Ballabgarh and Naraingarh.
Chief Minister Manohar lal has approved a proposal to this effect, said a spokesman of the Home Department. On the occasion of Rakshan Bandhan in 2015, women police stations had been set up at district level in Haryana.
The spokesman said that the decision to set up such women police stations at sub-division level was taken as victims belonging to these areas were facing great difficulty in lodging their complaints as they had to travel long distance to reach women police stations at the district headquarters.
He said, the State Government has also sanctioned staff for these police stations. Each women police station would have a lady inspector. The police stations at Assandh, Dadri, Hansi, Gohana, Dabwali and Naraingarh would have three lady sub-inspectors (SIs), six lady assistant sub-inspectors (ASI), 12 lady head constables and 36 lady constables, each.
Either of the police stations at Manesar and Ballabgarh would have four women SIs, eight lady ASIs, 16 lady head constables and 40 lady constables.
