To provide power supply to its agricultural consumers, the Haryana Government will launch a scheme for release of tubewell connections. A spokesperson of the Haryana Discoms (Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) on Wednesday said that as per the scheme, as many as 7,000 tubewell connections would be released purely on seniority basis in the first year out of the applications received upto December 31, 2012 in the concerned sub divisional office.

As per the scheme, the cost in accordance with the estimates prepared by the Discoms will be required to be deposited by the consumer in the office of SDO on the basis of demand notice issued, which would include the cost of transformer, cable, conductor, poles, labour charges etc.  The charges for release of tubewell connection would be Rs1 lakh  or the actual cost involved on account of distance of the location of the tubewell from the nearest line available etc. which ever is higher.

The spokesperson said that in case, any consumer desires to have connection released   on priority basis, he would have to deposit an additional amount of Rs one lakh over and above the demand charges. The scheme would be available to all the applicants even after December 2012. With the launch of this scheme, the complete project of  release and installation of tubewell connection will be executed by the Discoms entirely, added the spokesperson.
