A 30-year-old city resident was stabbed to death late on Sunday night after two of his neighbours attacked him with screw drivers at his residence in Sector-30.
Police said the wives of both Santosh Gandhi (deceased) and Amit Gandhi (accused) had been going through dispute for long, following which both Santosh and Amit fought each other on Sunday night.
Following the dispute, Amit along with his father Ravinder Gandhi, attacked Santosh with screw drivers and stabbed Santosh and his cousin Alkesh Kumar and left them badly injured.
Neighbours informed the police about the incident. Police rushed them to the Government Medical Collage and Hospital sector-32, where doctors declared Santosh brought dead, while Alkesh is still under treatment. Santosh, who belonged to Uttar Pradesh (UP), was a vegetable vendor. Police have arrested both the accused Amit and Ravinder from the spot and a case under section 302, 307 and 34 of IPC is registered against them.
“The accused in the murder case, Amit Gandhi and Ravinder Gandhi were produced in district court on Monday morning, where court sent them for judicial custody,” said Dharamvir Singh, Investigating Officer, Police Station, Industrial Area.
