Punjab Government has sent the panel of three IAS officers to the Election Commission of India for the office of Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).
With the current incumbent Kusumjit Sidhu going on central deputation shortly, the state government has started the process for finding her replacement. Sidhu has been appointed Additional Secretary-cum-Financial Advisor in the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and is likely to be relieved next week by the Punjab Government.
In the panel, the state government has zeroed in on 1991 batch IAS officer SR ladhar, 1997-batch officer Raminder Singh and 1990-batch officer R Venkatratnam.
As the State Government has sent its panel after the final approval of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, it is up to the ECI to choose one out of these for the post of Punjab CEO.
