27 more people succumbed to COVID-19 in Himachal as 1692 fresh infections surfaced in the state on Monday.
The death toll reached 1350 in the hill state while the total case tally was recorded at 89193. The active cases jumped to 14326 till the evening, according to the state’s health bulletin.
In the last 24 hours, six deaths each were reported in Kangra and Shimla, five in Mandi, three each in Solan and Una, two in Sirmaur, one each in Hamirpur and Kullu. Kangra, the worst affected district reported the highest number of fresh infections at 409 followed by 257 in Mandi, 256 in Solan, 180 in Sirmaur, 107 in Hamirpur.
In view of surge in COVID cases, Himachal Government had a day before imposed fresh restrictions on inter-state movement and asked all visitors to the state to register themselves on an online portal before entering the hill state.
