As many as 236 sportspersons who were a part of the contingent representing Haryana at the National Games held in Kerala earlier this year would be felicitated in a ceremony to be held on December 21.
The ceremony will be organised in their honour at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula.
Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Anil Vij said that during the programme, apart from these 236 sportspersons of 35th National Games held in Kerala, 252 players who had brought laurels to the State in the past have also been invited in the felicitation ceremony.
Among these 252 players, who have been invited are 80 Arjuna Awardees, 151 Bhim Awardees, 14 Dronacharya Awardees and seven Dhyanchand Awardees. Alongwith this, about 1,000 players of the country have also been invited.
Vij said that 236 outstanding players of Haryana who had won 107 medals in the 35th National Games, Kerala, would be honoured in this felicitation function.
As many as 157 medal winning players in the regime of previous Congress Government were also honoured by the present Government during this year. After the felicitation of 236 players, the number of players awarded by the State Government in one year would reach 393.
