Each such youth enrolled under the scheme gets Rs 9,000 per month, including Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance and the remaining amount is paid as honorarium in lieu of 100 hours of work.

Haryana Minister of State for labour and Employment, Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that this scheme, which was  launched in the   swarna jayanti Year on November 1, 2016, is getting good response as a number of applications are being received.

All such registered applicants are engaged for work in different departments, he added.

Saini said that the applicant should be a resident of Haryana having age between 21 and 35 years. His or her annual income from all sources should not be more than Rs three lakh.

Since the launch of the scheme for the post-graduates, more than 10000 unemployed youth have got themselves registered at the portal created by the State Government.

The scheme is aimed at enabling such youth to develop their skills by imparting them training in the field of their choice. This would also enable them to either get employment or be self employed in the field of their choice. Under the scheme, all departments, boards, corporations and universities have been asked to inform the Employment Department about the vacancies to be advertised by them in future so that the department could facilitate registered youth to apply for the jobs.

The registered unemployed youth would be informed through SMS and emails about these vacancies. Apart from this, login-id or link in the ‘Saksham’ portal would be created for the potential job providing agencies so as to enhance the scope of job opportunities for unemployed youth.  Recently, Haryana Government had also decided to expand the scope of its ambitious “Saksham Yuva” scheme to also bring unemployed graduates under its ambit from April 1, 2017.

Before the launch of the scheme, 28,000 unemployed youth, including 18,000 Class XII pass and 8,000 graduates and post-graduates were getting unemployment allowance.
