Justice Mittal Executive Chairman of HSlSA
Chandigarh: Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal, Judge, High Court of Punjab and Haryana at Chandigarh has been nominated as the Executive Chairman of the Haryana State legal Services Authority. He has assumed the charge of the Executive Chairman of the Authority.
Haryana transfers one IAS and HCS officers
Chandigarh: Haryana Government has issued posting and transfer orders of one IAS and HCS officers with immediate effect. Ankur Gupta, Principal Secretary, Renewable Energy Department has been given the additional charge of Commissioner, Ambala Division, Ambala against a vacant post. Kiran Singh, City Magistrate, Jind and Estate Officer, HUDA, Jind has been given the additional charge of Sub Divisional Officer, Jind during the leave period of Yogesh Kumar, Mehta.
IDBI Bank Officers protest
Chandigarh: All India IDBI Bank Officers Association (AIIDBIOA), Chandigarh Unit staged protest on Monday at Bank Square Sector 17, against proposed move of Central Government to reduce the shareholding of Government below 51% resulting in privatization of the Bank. The officers came in large numbers from Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. They staged a candle march from Bank Square to Fountain Square wearing black dresses as a mark of protest against the recent move of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s attempt to privatize IDBI Bank as stated in his budget speech.
Workshop of Private universities today
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission said on Monday that the Commission would organise a workshop on ‘Moving towards Accreditation Sharing Knowledge and Developing an Agenda for Action” on March 22 at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla. The workshop will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, a spokesman said. The objective of workshop is to share and exchange good practices relating to teaching learning processes and enhancing employability of the students, which various universities have initiated and adopted to improve the quality of education.
Central Bank of India donates Bird Ambulance
Chandigarh: Central Bank of India Chandigarh Zone took a noble initiative to take care of the Birds on Monday by donated a “Bird Ambulance” to Prince Mehra, a well known Bird lover of Tricity and lover of Environment under Corporate Social Responsibility. Ajay Vyas , Field General Manager of the Bank handed over Key of Bird Ambulance to Mehra. Vyas said that in north of India, this is the first Bird Ambulance being given by Central Bank of India to Bird lover. Davesh Moudgil, Senior Deputy Mayor of Chandigarh lauded the initiative of the Bank in providing Bird Ambulance. Handing over the keys, Ajay Vyas said that Central Bank of India is first Swadeshi Bank of India and well conversant with the responsibility towards society.

Punjab Golf Championship
Chandigarh: The 16th Punjab State Golf Championship will start at Ranjitgarh Golf Club, PPA Phillaur on March 26. All amateur Golfers of Punjab and tricity are eligible to participate in the tournament. Around 100 amateur golfers from 14 golf clubs of Punjab are expected to participate in the championship. All amateur golfers holding a golf handicap from 0-9 are permitted to participate in this championship. After completion of day 1 cut will be applied. Based on the gross score of both days championship will be decided. Entry fee is Rs. 400 will be paid through cash and the entry closes on March 24 by 04:00 PM.
