Worryingly, women are increasingly coming in the grip of cancer and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has stressed that priority needs to be given to cancer prevention and control measures for breast and cervical cancers globally.” “Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the world. In 2012, 25 per cent of all cancers in women were of the breast. The reason why breast cancer is a leading cause of death in the less developed world is the poor lifestyle and very limited awareness about when to get screened,” Dr Misra added.
