No cure for Sidhu’s outburst

BJP MP from Amritsar, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s outburst is a malady for which even “Dr Parkash Singh Badal” has no cure. The Chief Minister, during a media interaction this week, was heard boasting that he is a doctor who can cure all political ailments. Badal’s claim came in response to a query on the causes of cancer in the State. A boasting Badal wasted no time to say that he doesn’t know the reason or cure for cancer, but can prescribe medicine for anyone suffering from any political problem. A journalist, in turn, asked Badal about the cure available with him for Sidhu. A candid Badal could only laugh at the question. Mr. Badal, laughter is indeed the best medicine. But here, the “patient” is not you but Sidhu. let’s see if you can with all your political experience diagnose what is troubling him and come out with a prescription that would save your Government from falling ill.

Mosquitoes raid PU campus

Civic amenities in the city beautiful seem to be deteriorating with time. Students of Panjab University are looming under the threat of vector borne diseases like Dengue and other such dreadful fever as the campus is buzzing with mosquitoes. Some students even said that in the evening it becomes impossible to stand at some of the places as whole army of mosquitoes attack potential prey leaving big sore marks at the places of bite. On one hand dengue cases are rising in the city and on the other hand health department has become a mute spectator which will only act when the disease reaches epidemic proportions.

UT bhodroloks fume over lack of trains

The Bengali denizens of the city beautiful have got a reason to fume over former Railway Minister for not paying any heed to their need. With the pace at which Chandigarh is growing, a decent number of Bengalis live in the city. But now with Durga Puja approaching, the bhodroloks are all fuming over lack of transportation to their native place, especially the Railways for not giving any Pujo special from here. An angered dada said that they have all the time in the world to allot Onam special train. But with Didi gone, no one is there to look after our problems. All trains going to Howrah are from Delhi and already packed as there is no special quota for Chandigarh.

Patil endorsing UPA’s flagship scheme

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Shivraj Patil who has also served as Home Minister in UPA’s tenure, seems to be getting into poll mode. Patil, known for his loyalty to Gandhi family, issued special instructions to UT senior officials to ensure all arrangements for the success of UPA’s flagship scheme Food Security Act. Besides, giving necessary instructions to the officials, Patil also asked them to ensure that large number of city residents can be benefited from the scheme. With Patil endorsing UPA’s flagship schemes, it seems to be a last ditch effort by him to return to active politics prior to lok Sabha elections 2014. Will he contest the next polls is the question haunting the babus of City Beautiful.
