The Chandigarh Housing Board has decided to construct 128 two bed room flats in Sector 51A. Danish Ashraf, secretary Chandigarh Housing Board, said this proposed scheme shall be on the pattern of Stilts+4 flats and each flat shall have living/dining room, two bed rooms, balconies, kitchen, store, dress space and two toilets.

Under the new design, there shall be dedicated parking for each flat and provision has also been made for lifts. He said, “We are waiting for approval of layout and design of the scheme from the Department of Urban Planning”. The building and development work would be completed within 24 Months. In another decision, the board decided that there was no need for sureties for transfer of all categories of flats under all its housing schemes in Chandigarh

Providing benefit to the owners, the board in its meeting decided to do away with the requirement of sureties for transfer of all categories of flats under all its housing schemes. Officials said, Chandigarh Housing Board had a policy taking two sureties under the transfer policy of flats since 2009, including GPA transfers. As per the transfer policy, one surety was to be of a regular employee of a Board, Corporation or undertaking of the Govt. or other statutory autonomous bodies or scheduled banks, having 10 year of service still to be rendered.

In addition, the second surety was to be of an allottee or owner of the same category of CHB dwelling units of the same or higher value. Besides, in another decision, Chandigarh Housing Board decided to auction 18 flats in Sector-63, within the next two months. In the Sector-63 General Housing Flat Scheme-2008, 18 flats have been surrendered by allottees. These include various categories of flats including 3 Bed Room, 2 Bed Room, 1 Bed Room and EWS category.

For 3 BR flats, the likely reserve price is 79.95 lakhs, for 2 BR flats 59.95 lakhs, for 1 BR flats 39.95 lakhs and for EWS category, 19.95 lakhs. Any other flat in Sector-63 whose allotment is cancelled owing to non-payment of money due to the CHB, shall also be auctioned, officials added. Possession of these auctioned flats shall be handed over immediately, officials said.
