As many as 124 new industrial projects will soon come up in Haryana. These are among the projects for which Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors’ Summit-2016’ at Gurgaon.
When fully implemented, these projects would lead to investment of about Rs 83,487 crore in the State, with employment potential of 1,46,793 people, said a spokesman of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) on Tuesday.
He said that following the Summit, Haryana had become the first State in north India to attract investment of such a magnitude and had emerged as the preferred investment destination.
While 359 MoUs with an investment potential of about Rs 5.84 lakh crore were signed during the Summit, more prospective investors later evinced interest in setting up their units in the state, taking the total number of MoUs signed up to 406.
Further, there are 145 leads for potential investment. These MoUs and leads have investment potential of about Rs 6.40 lakh crore, with estimated potential to provide employment opportunities to about 5.50 lakh youth in the tate, said the spokesman.
He said that with a view to boost ‘Ease of Doing Business’, the State Government had launched the eBiz portal investharyana.nic.in, wherein the investors are accorded fast track clearances online in a time-bound manner by the departments concerned. Apart from this, the Government has constituted a Haryana Enterprise Promotion Centre (HEPC), wherein weekly meetings are conducted to track the progress of the MoUs and leads, besides removing the hindrances being faced by the investors, if any.
The HEPC also tracks the status of clearances by various departments and ensures that these are accorded within a defined timeframe. To guide the investors and ground the MoUs and leads, 35 Relationship Managers or Executives have been appointed, said he.
The progress of the MoU or lead is updated on customised MoU tracker software, which enables the state to effectively monitor the progress of all the proposals, he added.
