In a ghastly incident, a 12-year-old boy was charred to death by some miscreants in a broad day light on Monday. Following, the locals ransacked buses and blocked the highways to ludhiana and Patiala as the deplorable incident sent shock waves across the area. The shopkeepers at Malerkotla and Dhuri observed complete shut down after the incident, with people observing complete bandh of establishments. The victim, who had received 100 per cent burns in the attack, succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. The incident took place around 11:30 am, when the boy was on his way to give lunch box to his brother at a local school and was kidnapped by some unidentified persons, who set him on fire after pouring petrol. According to the police sources, the matter is being investigated and no arrest has been made so far.
