Continuing restructuring of its top management, country's third largest software services firm Wipro has appointed Bhanumurthy BM as President and COO. The company has also formed a new unit, Marketing, Innovations and Technology (MIT), which will be headed by Wipro's Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) Head GK Prasanna. Both the appointments are effective from February 1. A Wipro spokesperson confirmed the development. “Both Bhanu and GKP will continue to report to Abidali Z Neemuchwala, who will take over as the Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board, effective February 1,” the spokesperson added. Earlier this week, in a major restructuring, Wipro named Abid Ali Neemuchwala as its new CEO, replacing TK Kurien. Neemuchwala, an ex-TCS veteran, will assume charge from next month. Kurien has been elevated as executive vice-chairman.
Wipro Chairman Azim Premji was quoted saying: “Over the past five years, Wipro has been transforming into a next generation technology and consulting company with defining differentiators in the market place.”
