Sixty pc believe their economic condition has improved in last one yr: IBN survey

Published on:

In one of the biggest ever surveys conducted to review the one year performance of the Central Government, IBN Network commissioned Axis-My India Survey has found a whopping 72 per cent population expressing satisfaction with Modi Government.

The Survey attributed the satisfaction to three key factors: development, skilful governance and lower prices. Majority (56 per cent) says Narendra Modi effective Prime Minister,  having helped improve India's image globally.

The Modi Government has scored high with over 60 per cent believing their economic condition has improved in last one year. 55 per cent feel corruption has either come down or remained the same, while 32 per cent contend it has gone up.

62 per cent believe job opportunities have gone up or at least remained the same; 22 per cent say they have gone down. For 41 per cent inflation is cause for worry, though 47 per cent say it has come down or has remained the same.

The Survey draws a few pointers for the Modi Government on the contentious issue of land Bill. Over 35 per cent do not support the land Bill, an equal number undecided, leaving 28 per cent supporting the Bill.

The Survey does not offer any clarity over RSS interference in Government. Opinion is divided on ‘GharWapsi’ incidents denting Government's image, but near majority clear in its verdict that Government should rein in such elements. Over 43 per cent say the Government should control those who make controversial statements; in contrast 26 per cent disagree while 30 per cent are undecided.

An interesting trend emanates in regard to the Prime Minister's connect with the general public. Man Ki Baat pips Twitter and Face Book as Modi's most popular connecting tool.
