Sensex sinks 256 points

Though Samvat 2072 brought smiles to the investors’ face on the Diwali day, the benchmark BSE Sensex shrugged off on Friday and sinked to a two-month low of 25,610.53 by shedding 256.42 points as global sentiments weigh in on Dalal Street owing to Fed rate hikes and falling crude price. The Nifty also slipped below 7800-mark as all the gains posted during Muhurat trading was wiped out on Friday. The market lost more than 2 per cent in trade this week.

Besides, rise in inflation and fall in factory output added to the negative market mood as Sensex tanked over 256 points, while selling pressure was further exacerbated by fresh worries over global growth.
