Sensex extends losses, dips 58 pts

Market was in a profit-booking mode on Tuesday despite strong macroeconomic data as the benchmark BSE Sensex fell for the second straight session and ended nearly 58 points down at 26.846.53 on continued slide in IT stocks and weakness in global shares.

Metal stocks also plunged mirroring a weak trend in global markets after a data showed slump in Chinese imports, fuelling worries aboutthe health of Asia's largest economy.
