The rupee strengthened by 63 paise to close at 73.13 against the US dollar on Thursday amid positive macroeconomic data and a weak greenback overseas. At the interbank forex market, the domestic unit opened at 73.60 against the US dollar and touched an intra-day high of 73.07 and a low of 73.60. It finally settled at 73.13, registering a rise of 63 paise -- its biggest single-day jump in a month.
