The rupee depreciated by another 15 paise against the US dollar to register its fifth loss in a row on Friday, facing headwinds on the economy front due to rising Covid-19 cases.Tumbling to its weakest level since November 4, 2019, the rupee settled at 74.73 against the US dollar.
Besides concerns over COVID-19 resurgence, weak domestic equities and strengthening American currency also weighed on investor sentiment.At the interbank forex market, the local unit opened at 74.75 against the greenback and traded in the range of 74.53 to 74.96 during the day.
