Ohm laboratories Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market generic Valsartan tablets with 180 days of marketing exclusivity, Ranbaxy laboratories ltd said in a statement. The approval is for Valsartan tablets in the strengths of 40 mg, 80 mg, 160 mg, and 320 mg, it added. In May last year, Ranbaxy pleaded guilty to 'felony charges' related to the manufacture and distribution of certain 'adulterated' drugs made at the Dewas and Paonta Sahib units and agreed to pay $ 500 million to US authorities as penalty.
