P Saidev has joined the Raw Materials Division (RMD) of Steel Authority of India limited (SAIl) as Executive Director In-charge on September 14. Prior to this, Saidev was heading SAIl's Centre for Engineering & Technology (CET), Ranchi, as Executive Director.
A graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Saidev joined SAIl's Bokaro Steel Plant as Management Trainee (Technical) in 1981. There he served at different capacities and went to the level of General Manager. During the tenure he also served as CEO & MD of a Joint Venture unit of SAIl in Kozhikode, Kerala. In 2016, he was elevated to the position of Executive Director. A keen planner and strategist with skills in trouble shooting, team building capability, and abilities to synergising and managing resources, Saidev has also done PG diploma in Management from AIMA.
Over 35 years of experience in integrated steel plant he has wide experience in various segments like JV formation, Project Management, Installation & Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Quality System, Management & Process improvement in steel sector.
He attended a training programmeon Environmental Management in Australia in 1992. Saidev has been the faculty for systematic maintenance management at Bokaro Steel Plant. He has the distinction of making presentation for Prime Minister's Trophy. He has also been awarded Eastern Zone CII Productivity award thrice in group category for innovative modifications having cost benefit implication.
