Aiming to cash on the success of Nokia lumia 520, Finnish handset maker has expanded its range on Tuesday by launching lumia 525 with upgraded features priced at Rs 10,399.
Nokia's aggressive intent was also visible in the pricing of its new phablet, the lumia 1320 priced at Rs 23,999.
"By 2013-end, we had 14 devices in our lumia portfolio, of which 10 were launch in the same year. These two new devices are an integral addition to our Windows Phone portfolio," said Nokia India Director (Marketing) Viral Oza
When asked by The Pioneer about the product line up in coming months Oza said: "I can't comment on numbers or specific but if you look at the history so I can only say we are quite busy this year too."
Nokia is facing tough competition from Indian companies like Micromax and Karbonn.
On Nokia Microsoft deal Oza said "It is under formalization. It is still going under regulatory approvals. The process is expected to be completed by the end of Q1. Currently, we are operating as Nokia and its business as usual."
"The discussion is on and fortunately the High Court allowed the transfer to happen that a big relief in that sense," he replied when asked about the sale of Nokia Chennai Plant to Microsoft.
Viral Oza, director marketing of Nokia India, also said the company had no intention of bringing the lumia 2520 tablet to India, as the networks in the country were not capable of hosting the lTE device.
