leading medical device company from China MicroPort Scientific Corporation has entered India with cardiovascular stent at the Government capped price of Rs 29,600 while orthopedic device for joint implants will be launched in the later part of the year.
“Because of its best in class technologies at an affordable price MicroPort is well poised to serve Indian patients. Our stents are proven and more than 18,500 clinical trials have taken place for patients worldwide and as most of them have happened in China so, the product is a complete fit for Indians also,” said Microport Scientific India (Pvt ltd) Managing Director Riyaz Desai while talking to The Pioneer.
“We have offered third generation Firehawk stent which is the latest from Microport and with kind of stent there will be no garbage left in the heart and less medication will suffice,” added Riyaz.
What is the way to get MicroPort, Riyaz said, “We are establishing distribution centres and there would be 8 to 10 distributors across the country to start with.”
When asked about India plan, MicroPort ‘s Senior Vice President of International Operations Jonathan Chen said,” We are innovation driven company which uses 18 per cent of its revenue for R&D and so we have many relevant products for India.”
“We will be launching Neurovascular products in the next three years which will be a boon for ptients hit by strokes and lot many products are in the offing,” he added.
