TECHNICAL SEMINAR ON ‘CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERGROUND METRO’
Kolkata: A technical seminar on “Construction of Underground Metro” was held at Metro Rail Bhavan on 27.02.2021. Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway inaugurated this seminar by lighting a lamp. In his address, Shri Joshi expressed his hope that this seminar would be useful to give insights to all important aspects of the Underground Construction. Senior officers of Metro Railway were present in this seminar in which technical issues like ‘Top-Down Construction and Concrete Technology’, ‘Circular Economy for Sustainable Development’ were elaborately discussed. After the seminar, a technical quiz was also held.
Inner Wheel Club donates 4 wheel chairs
NEW DELHI: Mala Bhargava President, Inner Wheel Club, Delhi Main accompanied by Mala Rishi, District Secretary, Past Presidents Ritu Dass & Rita Dhawan and other members Sunita Mangla & Madhu Surekha donated 4-wheel chairs today i.e. on 02.03.21 at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station to help the disabled passengers becoming mobile. The above donation of 4 wheel chairs at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is in addition to 4 wheel chairs donated by Bhargava on 07.01.2021 to New Delhi Railway Station. Interestingly, whatever donations are made by the club to the society, are the donations made by the members themselves.
Launch of Sugamya Bharat App under Accessible India Campaign
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) on the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has developed a Sugamya Bharat App for crowdsourcing issues related to accessibility being witnessed in the built environment, transportation sector and ICT ecosystem across India. Dr.Thaawarchand Gehlot, Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the App on 02 March 2021 in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri Rattan Lal Kataria and the Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Smt. Shakuntala D Gamlin. The Mobile App can be downloaded from Playstore by Android users. The IoS version of the App will be available by 15th March 2021.
