Essay competition held to mark 5 yr of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the launch of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign, the Office of the District Magistrate, East District, Delhi and District Legal Services Authority (East), jointly organised an Essay Writing Competition in all government schools of East District, Delhi on the topic “WHEN GIRLS DO BETTER, THE WORLD DOES BETTER”. A very enthusiastic response was received from the school students, with around 3000 entries pouring in from UP Govt schools across East Delhi. Considering the restrictions placed on physical congregations on account of the raging Covid-19 pandemic, a virtual felicitation ceremony was organized by the Office of District Magistrate (East Delhi) and District Legal Services Association - EAST (DLSA-EAST) on 22.01.2021
SRM team wins Flipkart GRiD 2.0Robotics Challenge
Kattankulathur: Four students from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur have brought honour to their Institution by winning a national level robotics challenge. Team Robotronics consisting of Adrash, Ajit, Rishabh, and Shashwat (Final year B.Techstudents from the Departments of Electronics & Communication and MechanicalEngineering) emerged winners among the 500 teams that participated in the national Flipkart GRiD 2.0 Robotics Challenge held in January 2021. Their problem statement was Autonomous Stair Climbing Robot.
RAILWAYS TO RESTART E-CATERING SERVICES FOR PASSENGERS
The Indian Railways under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Minister for Commerce and Industry and Consumer Affairs, Food and Distribution Sh. Piyush Goyal has achieved a number of milestones recently in partial fulfillment of the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Digital India’. The launch of the new user interface of the internet ticketing website www.irctc.co.in and addition of new real time feature in IRCTC’s own payment gateway i-Pay during booking of tickets are among the new initiatives of Railways towards improving the user ticket booking experience on digital platforms.
POWERGRID CONDUCTS TRAINING PROGRAMME
New Delhi: A Training Program on Tower Climbing is being conducted by Government of India Maharatna PSU, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for technicians of Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Co. Limited (CSPTCL) at Raipur from 20th-23rd January, 2021 as part of Human Resource Development (HRD) Consultancy services for stakeholders. The training program is being conducted under strict protocol taking care ofall COVID-19 related measures.
MN Biswas takes charge of SAIL Raw Materials Division
MN Biswas joined SAIL Raw Materials Division (RMD) as the Executive Director In-charge recently. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director, Mines & Rowghat, at Bhilai. A Mechanical Engineer, Biswas joined SAIL as Management Trainee (Technical) in 1984. Biswas worked in different mines of SAIL at Bolani, Barsua, Kiriburu, Gua and Bhilai group of mines at various capacities and has seen the SAIL-Mines ecosystem closely. He made his mark by introducing several changes in the mining process like, new concept of Slime Beneficiation, Lean ore screening, and others. He handled the challenging Rowghat projects of SAIL.
