Jack Yang is inaugurating a new HTC Experience Zone in a mobile store at Delhi’s South Extension market. Recent setbacks to the Taiwanese manufacturer have not upset Yang, a former Apple executive and currently HTC’s President for South Asia. Nor have the rising sales of Android devices sold by Indian brands which are made in China.
“I believe that HTC still stands out with our Sense user interface and the fact that we use some of the best processors in the market”, Yang says. However, the Taiwanese device maker, one of the first manufacturers to jump on to the Android platform developed by Google currently is not in the hot-selling ‘phablet’ space nor do they have a tablet in the market.
“I believe that the tablet space is still very new and young and there is still a lot of development that will come in that space”, Yang told The Pioneer. He also said that HTC will be making devices with bigger screens soon, “Market movements have shown a tendency for larger screens, but it is also true that many people do not actually like using these devices as phones.”
“We feel that our upcoming products will excite consumers and as we roll out more such ‘experience zones’ across the country I believe that consumers will see that our devices which feature a great user interface and the fastest Qualcomm processors are the best in class”, Yang said. He confidently believed that HTC will be able to reclaim its former glory globally and be a big player in India as well.
